Twirly for Twite but Not for Knot

For our first full day here in North Norfolk, we had glorious weather, and we made the most of it by going to Thornham Old Harbour and walking through to Holme Dunes. We were disappointed not to see any small birds, especially Twite, but perhaps they haven't yet arrived from their breeding grounds to assemble in their Winter Quarters. There were plenty of Waders along the shore - Oystercatchers, Redshank, Curlew, Sanderling, Turnstone, Little Egret, Godwit and Knot. Geese are also arriving in numbers, especially Pink-footed Geese and Brent Geese (extra). Another highlight was a Black-throated Diver quite far out to sea.
