Alexandra Arms, Kettering

Today's trip was down to Northamptonshire to watch Chester at Kettering Town.

On this occasion Rick and I were joined by Jon and after stopping to do some exploring and geocaching in Desborough and Rothwell we descended on Kettering for more caches and a visit to the excellent Alexandra Arms pub which is today's blip. After picking up some food from a local deli and buying a few bottles of beer from a local brewery to take home we went to the football where Chester played out another goalless draw, the 3rd on the run away from home. 

At the game we bumped into another friend who supports Chester but who emigrated to France a couple of years ago so it was good to have a catch up. He is a season ticket holder at Bordeaux and keeper asking when we are going to go over and see a game there. Even before he emigrated he used to regularly go over to France to watch them and there were many occasions when he would amazingly watch both Bordeaux and Chester on consecutive days.

All in all a throughly enjoyable day even with a 0-0 scoreline.
