Lawnmower
Taking a break while cleaning the lawnmower to get a drink of water - it had got very warm in the sunshine. I’m valiantly hoping that was the last cut of the year but I suspect it won’t be. While clearing the dried-on grass and mud (where did the mud come from?), I discovered a bit of garden twine wrapped tightly around the blade shaft which was making it squeak when I turned it (yes, I did use the mower to shred the old sweet pea and green bean growth which I was getting rid of today). No problem, I though, I’ll just take the blade off and free it. But could I get the blade off? No amount of wd40 and pulling on a spanner would loosen the nut at all. I hate being beaten by my strength, or lack of. So I’ve put the mower away and we’ll see what happens next time I use it. Fingers crossed!
