Flying Scotsman
The Mid Norfolk railway have been hosting the Flying Scotsman this past two weeks and running it at the weekends. Out in the morning to capture some images of this historic locomotive. I am not a train enthusiast but love good old fashioned British engineering! Interestingly, I was reading a blog from the National Railway Museum about this loco which asked the question, "how much of this engine is still the original?" The answer is not a lot! A few instruments and bits and pieces, but the thing is 90 years old and like humans, some parts do need replacement at some stage in life!
In case you were wondering why the smoke from the stack is drifting forwards, the train is on its return run to Dereham and is being pulled by another engine at the other end of the train. There is no facility to turn the train of the engines here.
