Deserted
Todays' walk was by the Ale Water - a good name for it today, it was clear and sparkling amber. The village has disappeared, apart from the church and this old mill, both ruins, and the elegant bridge which is still intact.
We discovered that there is a ford just upstream of the village, not passable today unless you were wearing waders. I guess this place must have been thriving once, now it is a backwater. The only place still in use is the graveyard.
A day of little chores, preparing for a couple of short trips away.
