Tap Tap Tap. How difficult can it be?

This afternoon we drove to a farm just beyond Santa Barbara that hosts tarantula walks. Led by Ed as our guide we walked into the hills and found about a dozen of these rather large spiders. We all had a go picking them up and hiding them.... I narrowly avoided stepping on a couple there were so many.
Here,, hidden in the green foliage right in the middle of the picture is a male tarantula spider who has been placed at the opening of a tarantula burrow. Inside, judging by his interest is a female just waiting for the right moment to invite him in. He responds by hopefully tap tap tapping at the entrance, possibly launching a series of events that will culminate in his gruesome end.
