Lurking

This cauliflower appeared from beneath its leaf-covers overnight. It is a little bit of garden magic.

They lurk, with no indication of when they might emerge. Every year I play the game of trying to guess which one will be the first, and every year I get it wrong. Including this year. This particular plant was number 3 on my list.

Of course that is of no consequence whatsoever. The taste will be astonishing and I shall savour every bite.
