I found it difficult to watch something as delicate as a new larvae molt pulling itself out of the previous molt "hooked" on a thistle! In the same way as I always fear that the umbrella-tips of people passing absent mindedly on the sidewalk will finish in my eyes, I pictured the thistle plunging into the larvae's eye as it would pop out of the old molt. It obviously didn't happen, but that is just how easy it is to get involved in a simple natural process that you stumble upon when you take your camera on a walk!
