Amandine's Plot Treize

Nematodes

Nematodes are the only effective slug control solution for organic gardeners. You have to water them into the soil so that's what I'm doing today. I read somewhere that an autumn application can reduce the slug population the following year. Let's hope it works.

I'm increasingly worried that the high grass and branches around the pond - which are great for wildlife - are also the perfect habitat for slugs and snails as I've never had so many.

Then again this year's been great for amphibians. Hope there's lots of hungry frogs and toads eating the slugs before they go into hibernation!
