Happily selfish
Today for my cheeky lunchtime swim, I had the pier to myself. They've all shagged off. The walkers, the swimmers, the dog owners, the photographers, the drone pilots, the wobbly windsurfers, the unsteady standup paddlers, the jet ski racers, the fishermen. Even the heron was nowhere to be seen.
I took in the silence. I took in the sun rays. I took in the panoramic vision of the almost deserted harbour.
I stretched out my arms and I dived in.
Again and again and again. Selfishly happy.
