Keen as mustard

We spent a silly amount today in this glorious shop.

We have cheese for tea, with crackers and thought some pickled veg would accompany that nicely (still remembering the astoundingly good pickles at Torrazzetta), we couldn't resist the fruits either. Nor the pork scratchings...

The Mostarda di Frutta glows like jewels in its glass jars. We assumed that it would be good with ice cream. Because of its name we have jokingly been calling it "the mustard stuff". Well, you get what you ask for. It's actually flavoured with mustard and is good with cheese or meat. It's good then that we purchased an industrial quantity of Pecorino this morning.

We did also get jewels actually. I have new sparkly earrings (photo at FB). Maybe not jewels just Swarovski crystals but running with my theme.

Mantova is fabulous. Very lovely buildings and very foodie place. The camperstop is very nice. I feel myself warming to Italy at last. Just as we are leaving!
