I THINK WE ARE REWARDED
with whole day sunshine because we waited so patiently for it. And now we enjoy it as much as we can. After a slow start Mischa and I walked the 'Sleeping Beauty' path. It is a path along the Diemel, there are three actually. Like the corniches at the Riviera!! The first stays low with a view upon the stream. The second, the one we took today, goes higher up and gives views of the valley and the fields of the hills at the other side of the river. Because of the north side situation the higher parts were still in the snow. We had hoped to see some animals that we suspected to live there but none came from their hidden places. Not even a little mouse although we saw many little holes along the path.
The third 'corniche' is still higher up, it is a broad path, not with much view because of the bushes and trees at two sides, but with information about the ant hills and where the Romans walked long long time ago.
The plan was to walk to Helmarshausen and take the bus from there back. I had written down the time-table and had noticed too that it was now schoolholiday-time, but still I had made a little mistake. A good one I think then now we walked the dike along the Diemel river and came upon the three horses in a field there.
One had a very beautiful brown eye, amber is the colour perhaps.
When we reached the bus stop a bus arrived and it stopped after hesitating a little precisely before our feet. Get in he said and sit down, the regular bus comes in some minutes but I can take you to your little town. And that he did in a swift way.
My haiku:
The depth of the eye
Dark and so mysterious
I plunge in the circle
And the proverb by Emerson:
It does not hurt weak eyes to look into beautiful eyes.
