Seen from above

I was back quite early from the market and supermarket and, with no sport today, walked up to the belvedere instead. The views are good from there and the Thermes (the thermal spa building), the Casino and the Hotel du Portugal are clearly visible below. All the other significant buildings including several hotels were swept away by the terrible floods of 1940. There were just five of us for French conversation this afternoon and we found enough to chat about for an hour and a half without having to resort to a more formal activity.
