Well, this feels odd. Am in a room in the Premier Inn at Manchester Airport in preparation for a flight to Germany. I'm off to the simulator at ADAC for my six monthly proficiency check. There's no sim in the UK which is a shame.

First time I will have been in the 145 Sim due to covid even though I've been flying the 145 for a year.

And it's the first time I've been on commercial aviation since I left Shetland back in June 2020. Or rather, was evicted from my home in Shetland thanks to total management incompetence resulting in the loss of our Contract up there. Yes, I'm still bitter.

Not enthusiastic about the whole flying thing to be honest. Hey ho, Per Ardua Ad Astra. That one is for Chris!
