Tea Time

These two chaffinch (Fringilla Coelebs) were enjoying the seeds for afternoon tea. Their colours complement the seeds and the reflection in the metal base of the seed feeder adds to the scene.

The RSPB Handbook of Scottish Birds informs me that this species are one of the common passerines in Scotland. Even though they are common, I think they are both very handsome males. Apparently most Scottish chaffinch do not move more than 10km from their nest, so I wonder if these are locals?
