We drove to Wray Castle, between Ambleside and Hawkshead…see ‘extra ‘.

An amazing building, in the middle of nowhere, with extensive views!

After a good look around, and fortified with coffee and citrus cake, we walked along the shore of lake Windermere towards Claife…much easier going than our last two mountain walks!
