Itch

More scrambling in the wood. Came across this wild boar itching post. Extra is from other side. Often these are pine trees. The boar use the resin as an insecticide after their mud baths. Amazing the way the bark is worn away but not completely broken so the resin keeps seeping out.

A boar attractant is sold made of pine and beech resin. Paint a metre strip on a tree and apparently they’ll come a scratching. Basically a hunter’s lure or a way of protecting prized trees by creating a sacrificial scratcher.

Further to scoping the land (last entry) this little hollow on the torrent bed would be a border. A magical spot (extra 2)
