“City of Dreaming Spires”

We left Lincolnshire early after a delicious creamy porridge (oatmeal) breakfast so that we could fit everything we needed to do before heading back home. David drove the Duke and I rode with Kevin down through the Midlands with a quick stop for a drink with Bryn at Asda coffee shop to say goodbye to him, then on to Oxford to drop off some things for Naomi. She was suffering from “Fresher’s Flu” but valiantly showed us round her college - The Queens College and I caught a quick glimpse of some of the other colleges and sights in Oxford as we walked back to the car. Oxford is famous worldwide for its prestigious university, the oldest in the English-speaking world. It is called ‘the city of dreaming spires’ after the stunning architecture of these university buildings.
After dropping off The Duke at its lodging place till our next visit, Kevin drove us to a most beautiful hotel called “The Aviator” in Farnborough, chosen with David in mind and for its proximity to Heathrow as we have an early start tomorrow.
Our rooms had views overlooking the airfield where the famous Farnborough Air Show is held. As a special treat, Kevin got our room upgraded to a suite. We had an amazing dinner and Kevin chose the wines, which were amazing! We felt properly pampered!
