Not another boat.
Scotland trip day 16. Thurso.
Well it rained and blew a hoollie all day so we just stayed put, that is until 4 0’clock when the clouds cleared and we decided we all needed some fresh air.
We headed into Thurso, mainland Scotland’s most northerly town. We venture down into Old Thurso and to my delight I see old boats - in fact a whole yard of old boats.
Sadly not a great deal remains of medieval old Thurso except for the roofless Old St Peter’s Church parts of this date back to early 1100s.
We made a mad dash back to the car just as the rain poured again.
Our next stop was to the small harbour of Scrabster and a visit to the lighthouse, if you look closely you can see the rain coming down. Time to make a hasty retreat.
We hit the road again tomorrow and just a shot hop to Brora our home for the next four days.
Footnote Here at Dunnet bay we are actually North of Moscow 58.6°N
Moscow is 55.7°N
