Cowden

Today we went with the girls to the Japanese Gardens, although sadly it was rather a wet day.  However, due to covid restrictions it is necessary to book and we had a time slot, so went ahead and had a coffee in the cafe hoping the sun would shine.  That didn't happen so we borrowed some umbrellas and did a tour.  The gardens are stunning and we would have spent more time if the weather had been better, but we will return another day.

The gardens were created in 1908 and were open to the public, Sadly in 1963 or thereabouts they were vandalised and a lot destroyed. However restoration began in 2014 and is ongoing.

We headed over to Tillicoultry and had some lunch before coming home, and it was lovely to spend time catching up with the comings and goings of the girls (and us).
