Upton Heath

Dorset Wildlife Trust has just been given notice that the lease on their nature reserve will not be renewed. It is a place of special scientific interest and brimming with wildlife. While I was there I saw a black adder and they also have nightjars. The owners plan to apply for mineral extraction. In our world of greed, blustering politicians, and a Conservative council, our severely depleted and diminishing biodiversity does not stand a chance.
