I ended up being a bit closer to home today than expected.

Art Uk had asked me to get some up to date photographs of the Aberlemno Pictish Stones.   They will fetaure on a television programme next February so we wanted up to date images on the website.  I was doing a bit of reseach last night to make sure I could locate and identify them o.k.  While doing this I came across some information that saved me a trip.  From around late September to early April they encase them in boxes of some kind to protect them from the weather and the elements.  As they date back to the second half of the first millenium AD I suppose they need to be looked after with care.
