The Shell

Today we walked on Aldeburgh beach, and managed a shot of the Maggi Hamblin sculpture 'The Shell'  .  It was a very controversial piece when first placed and was frequently disfigured with paint by people who thought it was out of place and should not be there spoiling the view.    Made from stainless steel it has mellowed over the years to have a nice patina that reflects the light whilst giving the impression of a rusting piece of metal.
