Stourhead in Autumnal glory

Today we met two of my old Uni  friends and their husbands at Stourhead National Trust property, in Wiltshire. It has a Palladian House containing art treasures, but  as the weather was fine we spent all our visit exploring the glorious  landscape gardens .The main photo is looking towards the  Pantheon, across the Palladian Bridge, and  the extra shows  another view across the lake, looking towards the boathouse.   
Over the next few weeks the foliage on the  trees will become ever more dramatic in colour, but this means crowds of people  visiting, and today was pleasantly quiet, so I think we judged it right.
