Almost

the last Spring Crocus I'll show this year. Crocus kosaninii, from Serbia, named after famous Yugoslavian botanist, Prof. N. Kosanin (1874-1934), who , amongst many other plants, described Crocus scardicus and Crocus cvijicii.

This one, although quite small, is not difficult to grow but it only increases slowly. It is always one of the last crocus species to come into flower in spring.

I was tempted to save it for my 500th blip but perhaps there are one or two more crocus left for that day!
