Hair of the dog

This phrase, which apparently exist in many languages, refers to using more of the same to cure an ailment..... more alcohol to cure a hangover or even literally applying hair from the dog that bit you to the would it inflicted. The overall therm is of making things better.
Unfortunately, this pile of Mabli’s hair and a heap of toys from an upturned basket on the floor in my office did not improve my mood.
