Meet Kossie

Kossie had hyperthyroidism, a common and often fatal disease of elderly cats. The disease causes weight loss, increased appetite, irritability and often vomiting and diarrhoea. There are several treatments; drugs, surgery, a special diet... but the best treatment is to give radioactive iodine which completely cures the condition. Only a few places in the UK are able to provide this treatment; we do in our practice and Kossie was treated for hyperthyroidism in this way.

She came to us as a thin, fragile, beast. She left us today having completed her therapy weighing 800g more than she did when she arrived. Doesn't she look well?
