Henry - The Homing Pigeon.

This proud bird landed in our garden this morning.
I thought it was a wild bird, but thought he was a bit too big.
Then we noticed the rings on his legs.
I managed to see what was printed on the rings.

Checked the internet, and found that it stands for North of England Homing Union.
They have info about how to look after 'Lost' homing pigeons.
They can arrange to have them sent home (By train, in disgrace, I suspect).
But Henry does not want to be picked up.
I have given him food and water, and he seems happy enough.

He has been hanging around the garden for 3 hours now, and I am just a bit worried that the local sparrowhawks line him up for dinner.

I will send his details to the NEHU, and see if he has been reported AWOL.
