Insectophobia

It's been an eventful 24 hours! Left Glasgow last night and went up to my parents at Taynuilt (nr Oban). About 10 minutes from their house I saw that a mountain had been set on fire. I pulled over and was just about to get my camera out of the boot when I realised Dad would be wanting to take pictures also. So I rushed to their house and sure enough he was waiting. We took pictures till the early hours of the morning and this is the result flaming mountains (also check out his blip from yesterday).

Totally shattered this morning but up early as my cousin (KKBonawe) and I had booked a wildlife photography course. What an amazing day! We were on the banks of Loch Awe all day and saw the most fantastic wildlife and beautiful scenery. Now, you may have guessed that I am a city person and I'm not as into taking pictures of wildlife as taking pictures of people and I'm certainly not into bugs!

Well I can now say I love bugs (as long as I don't need to touch them)! I took shots of millipedes, voles, different birds and this beetle which had the most amazing gold back. With over 300 pictures to choose from I chose to blip the beetle as firstly KKBonawe couldn't get over how much I enjoyed taking these pictures (she knows me well and knows I don't like bugs). Secondly the guy that ran the course (Philip from Loch Vision) had never seen this type of beetle before and I was amazed as he seemed to know every other type of insect, animal and bird known to man.

I can thoroughly recommend this day, it was absolutely fantastic.
