Return visit - the last time we were here on January 2nd it was reasonably warm. Now we are supposedly in Spring, there is snow on the ground and the tree growth hasn't progressed in the slightest!
We thought a trip round the house might allow us to thaw out a little - but alas, no, there is only a tiny bit of very inefficient heating as it is a 15th century moated manor house with heating system to match its age! Even the volunteer guides were huddled round the oil heaters in their thickest coats!
The cafe has improved though - they seem to have had a bit of a refit. Quite why you only get a teaspoonful of milk for your tea though I have no idea. Perhaps because they assume you will have tipped most of the tea across the table whilst pouring it due to the highly inefficient teapots!
