Across the way, a restaurant that has sat on the corner for a long time (under several owners) is being replaced by a six-story condo. There has been quite a bit of discussion over what was going to be built there, as the neighbourhood association has provided input. There are restrictions with regard to chain restaurants/stores as the people want the area to maintain a neighbourhood with locally owned businesses. I'm pretty sure that Chipotle wanted to convert the restaurant, but didn't pass muster. 

I don't like the idea of a six-story building being built as it will somewhat ruin the view we have of the area leading up to Corona Heights and Buena Vista Heights.
