The Wire - Season Two

With m’boy’s birthday money from his “honorary auntie” Mia burning a hole in his pocket, a spend-up on a grey and drizzly day was clearly the only way that that particular fire was going to be doused.

He got himself yet another hot wheels car, more football trading cards and a football magazine and was delighted with his purchases. The Youngest was happy with a copy of The Beano and spending her pocket money on a god-awful stretchy alien whose eyes light up. 

Almost as happy as I was to see her almost touch the wire on the zip line today. We’ve worked hard over the past month on push-off technique and aerodynamics, but The Eldest thinks that charging down the runway and pushing her all the way yields the best results, which is hard to dispute given the evidence here.

It’s been another quiet Saturday, and aside from popping out to collect The Eldest we haven’t done an awful lot, which made me feel like I should be doing more with the children, but when they are playing nicely and seem perfectly content as they are, I guess i must be doing something right?

Regardless, we’ve not been for a little while and the weather looks even worse tomorrow, so I’ve booked us some tickets to the cinema to go and watch Ron’s Gone Wrong.

Might even whip up my first cottage pie of the season.
