A Tree and Cake event

in Ardura community forest.

A group of 18/19 of us turned up for a wander along the track to look at a favourite tree of M who told us a little about the oak tree (seen in extra), he pointed out other plants living on it including a small holly tree and a Rowan.

As with all these events tea and cake was served along with a lot of chat. A lovely group who later collected acorns lying on the track and from under a large area of oak trees by the river, one of the group had a dip in the river, quite warm apparently.

The first extra shows John and M saving acorns from the gully, at first I thought they had opted for a yoga session, but no, their aim was to rescue acorns from drowning.

The favourite tree was in various stages of life and decay, the bark looked marbled, slink and smooth.
