A Wild Goose Chase

Today we decided to go on a little exploring expedition, and set off to find the charmingly named Ladies Delight Lighthouse in Winthrop.  Apparently this is the only active inland waters lighthouse in the state of Maine, so we thought that would be an interesting sight to see. 

After driving around and around with no indication of any signs pointing to it, we resorted to using the Sat Nav in our truck.  Lo and behold, it led us directly to aptly named Lighthouse Lane but when we got there, we were confronted with a large red sign stating it was a private road and NO TRESPASSING.

So we never did get to see the object  of our quest.  We did, however, turn down a dirt road nearby, and parked on the verge at this beautiful scenic spot where we enjoyed our lighthouse-less picnic lunch.
