Colombia - Day 4

Meet the charismatic Andean Pygmy Owl!  This was only one of many highlights of our 4th day on this incredible adventure.  Our local guide who seems to have his own special language to talk to the birds was able, after 15 or so minutes, to lure this tiny owl to us where it perched on a branch for at least 20 minutes, watching us and then entreaty hunting for a tasty meal.  At one point, several hummingbirds attempted to mob him which only made him move to a different branch and glare at them.  

Other highlights of the day were a rare and endemic species of antpitta, a toucan, so many hummingbirds that your mind would boggle and so many more amazing creatures.

I'm blipping this a day late because the next day started at 4:45 AM!
