Black Hill
We were orienteering in Tankersley Woods, Sheffield today and then went over to the northern Peak District, (an oxymoron if ever there was one), to go up the Marilyn, Black Hill. It’s often said that there are no dull hills, only dull people. All I can say is that I must be a very dull person as this is probably the worst and dullest Marilyn I’ve been up. It had few redeeming features and finding the top was a hassle as it isn’t the trig point. The description was a grassy mound and a grid reference. After much faffing we stood on a grassy mound at the right grid reference surrounded by other grassy mounds all of similar height; we won’t be back. The blip is of the best view we had on the ascent.
Best on black.
Today’s entry on the Abstract Fiesta journal is a misty trig point.
