Lovely walk....

up to the Piper's Stone this morning. Expected rain and it was dry, expected wind and there was none, expected cold and it was warm. Years since I've been up here.
The stone is reputed to be where the piper with the Jacobite small army stood and played to encourage the men in the Battle of Cromdale 1690. The Government troops had crossed the Spey to attack the group, who were unorganised and easily defeated. The site of the battle is the small yellow hill appearing above the stone here.
