Walkies TT334
Lovely to see butterflies on our walk this morning; wanted to get closer but Mr Finley had other ideas!
Speaking of whom; Daddy & I spent hours after work yesterday installing a safety gate as he's developed a huge disliking to us (especially me) leaving the building. We wanted to get him used to it being there during the week as we have to go out for a couple of hours on Saturday night to see a postponed concert from last year (thank you Covid)
It should have been way simpler than we made it but half the instructions were missing and the only YouTube videos we found were for a similar but not the same gate.
First tryout was this morning when a parcel delivery arrived and the second was this afternoon when I popped into town for an hour.
He whined a bit this morning but stayed put and I'd prepared a frozen Kong for this afternoon. He cried as I left but was laying down.
When I got home he was laying down.................................................
on the other side of the gate!!
It was still locked in place. No other rooms had been touched so I think he must've jumped it somehow but not be able to jump back and laid there patiently waiting for me to come back and unlock it so he could go and retrieve his Kong!
He was very calm really though so even if it just gives us 5 minutes for us to get out the door without him bolting out towards the road it's money well spent and the more times we use it the more he'll realise we do always come back!
