Flying Sparrows

Another experiment with flying birds at the feeders.  It would be easier in the summer with more light.  The problem is the birds don't congregate at the feeders then, it is a quick nip in feed and away.

Purely by accident, I have caught both species of Sparrow which visit our feeders.  The top of the two flying is a Tree Sparrow and the one just below it is a female House Sparrow.  Amazingly the Tre Sparrows are the commonest on the feeders.  Amazingly, as there were 5,300,000 pairs of House Sparrows in 2016 as against 250,000 Tree Sparrow pairs.
