'Pane Comin

… was my first sentence, apparently, living in a jungle village, Puyupungu, in Ecuador, where the arrival of the MAF plane was always an exciting event.

And we saw a lot of planes both coming and going as we walked across the Ria Formosa here at Faro. We also saw herons, egrets, and a spoonbill, as well as smaller birds, all busily fishing as the tide went out, the full moon rose orange, Venus, Saturn and Jupiter (the last two so close together they looked joined) appeared and the setting sun turned the sky a bruised purple, the air filled with the sound of bird calls and the occasional roar of a a pane comin'.

Gratefuls:
- getting safely here after a stressful morning leaving and sorting
- staying in Aeromar, "our" hotel, where we are known and feel at home
- fresh seafood and white wine meal, feet in the sand, served by a man from Monchique, where they "can see both the Algarvian coast and the Alentejano plains"
