This shot says it all. Lou is feeling so much better. After lying in the sun resting all day, she dug out her make up bag and emerged looking radiant. We ate at her favourite rooftop restaurant in Kalkan and caught up with some Kurdish friends.

One friend described how his mother was one of the first people to get Covid in his hometown in  Eastern Turkey. Someone videod their house, as she was collected in an ambulance,  and posted it on social media. The whole family isolated there for over a month and were treated as unclean and shunned by the rest of the community. It must have been so frightening. Happily his mother is now well.
