I hadn’t realised how much rain we must have had last night until we took Hector for his late afternoon walk today and found the river and consequently the water level at the mill rather high and flowing very fast. It seems to be raining heavily as I type so it’ll probably be a similar story tomorrow.

In other news, our planning application has now been stuck to a fence post over the road by a planning officer who came round today. He also looked around our place and took a bunch of pictures. We’re waiting for a structural engineer to come and have a look and then for our preferred builder to do his quote. Everything seems to be taking a long time, but here’s no hurry.
