Ice Cold in Kirkenes

My last shot on the boat before we left to spend a night in the Kirkenes Snow Hotel.

It was amazing to grind through this ice. It was only on the surface of the water, but still looked and felt very dramatic.

Spent the day in Kirkenes, visiting the museum and generally chilling out before we were literally chilling out!!

The museum again gave us an insight into what happened here during WW II. Kirkenes was bombed over 300 times!

Felt a little apprehensive this evening as we were shipped off by bus to the snow hotel. It was quite exciting when we got there, we had a good look around all the rooms and were given some advice about how to keep warm during the night. (We were given hefty sleeping bags as well.)

Then we all had a meal in a lovely warm hut and our final excursion before bed was chasing the aurora - which we didn't see until we got back to the snow hotel!! It was very faint - but at least we saw it.
