Technicolour Sunset
Much of my day has been spent resting, editing photos and catching up on television. A day of almost constant rain has been an ideal opportunity to recharge batteries - much needed after yesterday’s mini-adventure. I hate the fact that I get so tired, but hopefully there will be some answers to my health issues - once further tests have been completed!
And the rain does stop - enough to allow an exciting trip to B&Q for compost. Then on to West Shore. There’s no indication of a sunset of any sort when we start walking, but the greys and blues are restful and we enjoy a walk far out onto the mudflats of low tide.
Then suddenly, as I’m watching a lone heron and some egrets, there’s an explosion of gold. It comes without warning, startlingly beautiful, shooting rays into the sky. And this is just the start. What follows is a technicolour fantasy - pinks, blues, oranges, dark reds, russets, purples. It is almost impossible to believe these scenes are real.
As if this wasn’t enough to satisfy any sense of colour deprivation after days of grey, the near-full moon rises , glowing pink. We follow it home to Colwyn where we watch it reflected - now gold - in the bay.
Thank you for the lovely comments and stars for my back-blipped pheasant! Today’s main was incredibly difficult to choose, so I’ve added a collage of some of the other colour palettes of this amazing sunset, and there’s also a shot of the moon rising over the bay.
