Rivoli's Hummingbird
(Madera Canyon back blip)
I've spent all afternoon going through my photos from my trip (which began the night of 11 October). My back blips have been posted haphazardly, in part due to my mono Monday hosting responsibilities. Not complaining - I love every second of it.
Back blips begin here. You can find the others on the 16th, 17th and 19th.
This is a male Rivoli's hummingbird. In 2017, what was then known as a Magnificent hummingbird was divided into two separate species. While this species barely crosses into southern Arizona from Mexico, apparently, the other is found much further south. They share many of the same markings.
