Nottingham day1

This is why I’m in Nottingham - with a friend, whose mum came from here.  We’re looking at houses where she used to live, headstones in cemeteries, and this beautiful church, where her mum and dad got married over 70 years ago. A lovely day exploring, though of course interesting, rather than emotional, for me.
In the afternoon we went to Attenborough nature reserve - named after the village of Attenborough, not David (though he did open it).  It’s made up of lots of gravel pits, now a network of lakes with pathways and bridges between.  A wonderful place to visit. A view is in the extra.
Tired tonight, we walked so much.  And I drove a hire car, which was exciting:)
