The Last Bouquet

These rubeckia had a lovely second act in the garden but it was time to bring the curtain down.  So, before John cut back the raised beds, I gathered a big bouquet of them for the breakfast room.  Sitting beside them is a little maple leaf shaped bottle filled with delicious Vermont maple syrup which were the favors at Mallory's wedding.  More house "buttoning up" planned for today when Matt comes to lend his skills to this yearly chore.
