Mr Beaky says Happy Blippiversary!
After a slightly disrupted nights sleep it is a joy to be able to sit in the sunshine; a pause between the rain and ridiculously warm still for late October.
It's Blipfoto's 17th Birthday - Hurrah! Since the start of 2015 this site has been a go-to, several times a day. The discipline of producing a decent or at least not entirely rubbish photograph and adding a diary-like text to it has been and continues to be delightful. I have such fun viewing and reading the breadth of life experience, artistic endeavour and insight from members all over the planet. And no adverts. This place rocks.
The Severn is a fast flowing and muddy lady. It's not possible, safely, to get closer to the water because of the thick and unapologetic mud that lines the riverbanks. I did like getting this close to this curlew though.
In other news, the removal of the reversing exercise in the HGV driving test is clearly paying off dividends. ;-)
My in-tray is becoming ever more filled with emails from angry, anxious and bewildered residents writing about the railway station build. The latest one asks very pertinent questions about the carbon equivalent costs and biodiversity impacts of the construction and operation, and whether they outweigh the potential benefits of rail travel.
The consensus is growing that the railways station is only there to provide a reason for building a road into a field where more housing can be constructed.
Again, my updated blog is here.
