Rumbling In The Air

I feared I may have left my photographic outing too late today when I saw the light disappearing rapidly behind the approaching cloud front. I'm not sure I did the scene justice in terms of capturing the light spilling out over the cloud bank, I feel there was a lot more drama than the image portrays. But I did record the rim lighting on the cloud edge.

Over the next few minutes the clouds rolled in over my head and the sound of thunder rolled around the heavens, forewarning the rain to come. Although I walked in the opposite direction to try some views still in sunshine, I did not get anything worthwhile. Eventually it became too dark and I wanted to avoid getting wet.
