Pumpkin graveyard

The first grade classes all carved pumpkins this year. They usually count seeds and save some to plant. When the pumpkins start to decompose out they go to this little corner where they can be observed when we walk down the hall. They read a book called Pumpkin Jack all about a little boy who carves a fantastic pumpkin then out it goes in the garden patch when it's rotting. He's surprised in the spring with a new pumpkin plant and so it goes.
